The crochet corkscrew or swirl is used to place on top of beanies and hats. It is a nice finishing touch and can make an ordinary beanie look spectacular!
Materials Required
Any size crochet hook and yarn.
I’ve used medium worsted weight yarn with a 5.5mm crochet hook.

ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
rnd = round
st = stitch

Written Instructions
Notes: Place the front of the beanie so it is facing you. On one side of the beanie of the 1st rnd, join your yarn into any st on the right side making a sl st and ch 10. If you want a higher crochet corkscrew/swirl then add more chain stitches than 10.
Row 1: 4 sc into 2nd ch from hk, 4 sc into each ch st along to the end of the chain, make a sl st into any st on the opp. side of the 1st rnd on the beanie to join.
Finish off.
With one of your yarn tails, thread it through your yarn needle and sew the bottom layer of the crochet corkscrew/swirl onto the 1st rnd of the beanie.
Weave in yarn tails with a yarn needle.
